Update from OCHA #Sudan: New fighting has been reported in the vicinity of Jebel Kortala, about 90 kilometers east of Dilling town in the north of South Kordofan state. The number of civilians affected is still unclear, but reports suggest many people have fled the Jebel Kortala area to the town of Habilla. Some of those displaced were reportedly seeking sanctuary in Jebel Kortala, having already fled their homes to escape earlier violence. This renewed fighting threatens to affect plans to implement a polio vaccination campaign for under-5s in the state. The campaign has already been significantly delayed by the failure of both sides to reach an agreement.
