Update from Rick Reyes - Our young and eager YOG squad will attempt to qualify this Sunday, June 1 for the Nanjing 2014 YOG Triathlon. Justin Chiongbian and Ohj Nobles, our male candidates, and Vickie Deldio, our lone female qualifier will compete against Asias best. Only 1 athlete from a particular country can qualify per gender, i.e., only 1 male and 1 female per country. They are currently in Burabay, Kazakhstan in 4 degree celsius weather preparing and acclimatizing for what will surely be a wet suit race. Theyve been away since late March training at the Rio Maior, Portugal Camp of Coach Sergio Santos, the coach of former World #1 Vanessa Fernandez, training with other world ranked juniors; hoping that one or 2 of them become the first Filipinos to qualify for and Olympic triathlon. Your prayers, best wishes and support would really be appreciated and helpful as these athletes do their best to represent the Philippines.
