Update from Samantha DAgostino: they now know the exact bacteria (I asked the nurse to write down the name so I dont get it wrong so Ill let you know when she does). The plan is to remain on the 2 antibiotics that hes on but theyll increase the vanco. Theyll check his vanco levels to make sure theyre at a therapeutic level. They said today is a critical day that will lead them in what direction to go from here. If the vanco doesnt kick the bacteria in the line then itll most likely be removed. Usually when they remove them they have to wait a few days before putting the new one in, to make sure theres no bacteria. But hell still need IV antibiotics so theyre going to take all of this into consideration while making their decision. Bloodstream is still negative for growth so atleast we have that much
