Update from Stephanie on little mason :) We got home last night, Mason did wonderful. So did McKenna. Masons lung perfusion scan looked amazing in compared to his echo that showed the pulmonary artery stenosis. During his catherization, they did balloon dilate his right pulmonary artery and his right iliac artery (in his right leg). He has been having an issue with his left leg being slightly discolored when standing for prolonged periods of time. This was a little concerning so Dr. Glatz checked it out and to our surprise it was his right leg that needed the attention. Mason did very well during the procedure and his pressures and heart function was awesome. He is just taking Tylenol for pain and cannot take a bath for a week. We can live with this. A very special thank you to our stepmoms Cheryl, Harriet, and my mom Dorothy for keeping a close eye on McKenna and keeping her busy. We have to follow up in 3 weeks to the cardiologist and possibly the GI doctor. So you all are aware of our hotel situation on Wednesday. A wonderful foundation by the name of The Kolbe Fund had taken care of our hotel sty while we were in Philadelphia. I contacted them when the power, air, and water went out and the founder Kate, stayed in contact with me and the hotel to keep us up to date on the repairs and when they were completed. Had it not been fixed, they would have made arrangements for us to stay elsewhere. Kate was on the ball. She even was texting with me while we were on our way home to make sure we were all ok. They truly were life savers. We were responsible for our food, parking at the hospital, and gas. So those who generously gave us funds, thank you. This was another worry because it is so expensive in Philadelphia. We do have a little bit left so we will be using it for our expenses in 3 weeks. While we were being discharged, another family was experiencing a tremendous loss. Our friends Carolyn Janney Leake and Billy Leake lost their dear little boy Murphy. We got to say hello to Billy in the cafeteria on Thursday morning but the words were just not there to tell him how much they have had an impact on us and how we admire their strength and perseverance in the care of the their dear angel Murphy. He had a smile that would light up a room just by showing someone his picture. God Bless them . Please send them warm thoughts for strength and comfort . While I had been tossing around the idea of a Tshirt fundraiser for Team Mason, I have been contacted by a local screen printer that is willing to do it. So starting today, Team Mason t-shirts are on sale. They should be completed the week of August 11th. I will need payment immediately when order is placed. The shirt will be red with a white decal which I have attached the decal to this post. The cost will be Toddler-XL=$15, XXL=$17, and XXXL=$18. The proceeds from this fundraiser will be placed in a fund to help our family with travel, lost work, and any medical expenses that come up for Mason. The money can be send to me by mail or by paypal @ randsmoyer@yahoo. Thank you in advance. Again, thank you all for the prayers, thoughts and donations to make this trip and future trips to Philadelphia possible. Please pray for all of those who are still at CHOP with their children and those who have empty arms tonight.
