Update from Te Awa at The Base Angela Young To Me Today at 9:33 AM Kia ora, Thank you for your feedback, however we do not have a policy that does not allow our customers to breast feed or bottle feed their children at The Base. This staff member has incorrectly informed our customer and we will be contacting her directly to sincerely apologise for her experience. Please see below our formal media response below. The Base Centre Management would like to inform its customers that we do not have a policy that restricts Mothers from breastfeeding or bottle feeding their children in any part of our mall. We recognise our customers human rights to raise their children in the best practice they see fit. The Base Centre Management will be addressing the issue with our staff member who has incorrectly advised our customer. We provide excellent facilities for breastfeeding mothers, however we do not restrict them to one particular area. We would like to apologise to this customer for her experience and will endeavour to make direct contact with her to apologise in person. Nga mihi nui, Angela Young | Marketing Manager I replied that I hope the cleaner isnt being used as a scapegoat because in the original fb post that is going viral the cleaner said, she then told us it was in there handbook to tell woman who are breastfeeding that it was not allowed in public at that mall. She also did not like enforcing this rule and that I was the third woman she had to do this to on this day. Somebodys talking porkies and we shall see who it is soon I suppose. :)
