Update from my sons science project... His hypothesis was that listening to classical or orchestra when going to sleep would help you fall asleep faster. He tested this against several kinds of music, country, rap, etc. In the end he found that music that the listener prefers actually seemed to help you fall asleep faster than any of these. In his little brothers case, who served as his guinea pig, it was Dub Step. So, if trying to fall asleep more quickly, try music that you prefer anyway versus what we might think of as calming, relaxing music. I thought that was pretty interesting for a twelve year old.
