Update of the English BJJ Open held in Dartford today 9th November 2014. After winning my Semi Final 11-0, I fought The Final against the Silver medalist in the BJJ World Championship (check the links below). Unfortunately, I couldnt bring the Gold home, I tried as hard as I could but lost by An Advantage. An anecdote: when I made it to the Dojo, I looked for my name and the time of my fight, a guy beside me told me A TOUGH bracket... (Encrypted: You stand no chance ) because the SILVER MEDALIST OF BJJ WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IS IN THE BUILDING. My answer was He has two legs and two arms, we see what happens. I feel cool as I had two tough fights and a lot of fun. I have little fun when I do HIIT ON WEDNESDAY or Saturday SPRINT SPIN, SO TRAIN HARD AND FIGHT EASY I feel satisfied because I was the fittest guy despite being 12-22 years older than my opponents. I feel grateful to Darren FOR OUR BJJ TRAINING SESSIONS, Steve Cowan my BJJ Coach, my training partners at Icon BJJ, Russell in particular, Delroy Brown Belt at Morefire Icon, Ludo (came to support me on site and videoed the fight) and ZeMarcelo founder of Icon BJJ former BJJ BLACK BELT World champion who was coaching me during my fights. Thanks EVERYBODY for the support in particular to those who texted me or wished me good luck Aziz, Rachel, Carl, Carly, Darren, Andy, Johnny, Laura, Heidi ... Most importantly, thank to ALLAH, I Am Muslim and to Believe help me in whatever I do. Finally, I cant do anything without my FAMILY, my two kids Milo and Noah who fuel me and keep me young. I want to Lead by example and prove them that through hard work you get what you work for. Massive Thanks To my wife Susannah for her unconditional Love, Support and to have to Put up with our two little monsters.
