Update on Bowdoin Bambi, Unfortunately, I just recieved word - TopicsExpress

Update on Bowdoin Bambi, Unfortunately, I just recieved word that despite our best efforts, Bowdoin Bambi did not make it. At the point that I was able to evacuate her to HVAR, she was too dehydrated and malnourished. She did not survive and passed away yesterday. Words simply cannot express how disgusted I am with Bowdoin Park and NYS DEC. If you are as disgusted and outraged as I am about how Park Staff and DEC handled this matter, please direct your calls, emails and concerns to officials and ask that they take steps to make sure that Park Staff are well trained, knowledgable about DEC policies and that they lobby NYSDEC to re-assess and re-evaluate policy and protocol in light of this disturbing incident. Please message the following individuals to express your concerns: Bowdoin Park Director Steven Olsen [email protected] County Public Works Commissioner Noel Knille [email protected] and cc County Executive Marc Molinaro [email protected] More importantly, if you are able to do so, please volunteer, donate or contribute to HVAR - they did the best that they could for this baby fawn and really tried. Unfortunately, it was just too late. HVARs website is here. hvars.org/ Thank you to everyone who reached out and have been concerned. Its wonderful to know that so much humanity still exists. w/ Gina Zullo Elisa Bonini Tiffany BoniniApril Bonini Pic 1 Bambi on Tuesday the day she was evacuated to HVAR Pic 2 Bambi Saturday when she was rescued from the drain pipe As you can see, she deteriorated a great deal in those days at Bowdoin Park despite the concerns of citizens who tried to help, which advances Park Staff rebuffed. Park Staff claim they were just following DEC orders. smh Marc Marcus Molinaro
