Update on Buttons, this evening: Sept. 30, 2014 Today a Radiologist came and did images of Button’s urethra and made some videos. In his initial estimation he found nothing to be alarmed about, however more extensive examination and reading of the findings will be done, tonight, to make a determination of how they will proceed, tomorrow. The Catheter was removed during these procedures and left out to see if Buttons could urinate on his own. He did! He could only urinate standing up and it was a flow and a dribble, as well. This is very, very good news. Tonight, every four hours, a Vas Scan (like an ultra sound) will be made of the bladder to see if it is empty or full and swelling. If it is beginning to swell they will reinsert the Catheter. His urine has some blood and is thick... but this is common after bladder surgery, for a while. He had formed a blood clot in his bladder and it was dissolving, as well. His Bun Score was normal as well as Creatinine was also normal. These are blood and lab results that tell if there is any infection or cancer in the blood. Tomorrow they will do a UA (urinalysis) to check if there is any kind of malfunction in the kidneys, prostate and the bladder. We will get a more definite reading of all tests and imaging, in the morning, of how they will recommend proceeding with treatment.
