Update on Caleb...Meeting with Todd Burpo, Heaven Is For Real, Caleb Remembers Fall Creek Falls.... Update on Caleb (From Tiffany): The neurologist believes that his constant eye rubbing has become a habit. It started with an infection and all the itching and rubbing became something he just kept doing. His vision is fine-Praise God! The walking is something we are going to continue to monitor as we go back to PT. No testing will be done yet. I am thankful for that not being the first resort. He looks perfectly healthy overall! I do have a question to any whom might have their kids on meds. His neurologist wants to put him on Celexa for the OCD that he deals with. His eye rubbing is constant to the point that he had trouble focusing and when walking runs into things. He is also rubbing his face raw. It is really affecting his school. I do not like medicines. I try not to take them myself, but if it will be what is best for Caleb temporarily I will do it. Are there other options before meds? Calebs situation is different bc his brain doesnt even work like a typical OCD child because of TBI which I know some of my friends understand (Helena). Oh btw he has had compulsive behaviors for a long time and they got worse with all the change that has happened in our lives recently (with Tims new ministry work, and our move to Gallatin). ~ Tiffany Update on the book (Tim) I wanted to update real quick and let you know that we had a meeting yesterday with Todd Burpo, author of Heaven is For Real. We had a great conversation and he gave me a lot of great tips that amounted more to some great spiritual advice more than anything. I needed that. They plan to read our book over the Christmas holidays. It was amazing to compare stories and see how God is truly active in our lives in so many unique ways. Peter was right when, on the day of Pentecost, 2,000 years ago he said that in the last days He would pour out His Spirit... In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. - Acts 2:17 Heres whats incredible. The night before we had our meeting with Todd, we were playing with our kids in the kitchen. Caleb walks over to me and Tiffany and says: Hey dad. Remember when we went camping? I shook my head yes, as weve been a camping a few times since the accident. I didnt think he was referring to the accident, because weve never once spoken to him about it. Hey dad, remember when we went camping and the rock hit me in the head? Tiffany and I were dumbfounded, and shocked beyond words. We just looked at each other, surprised, but skeptical. He continued: We took a lot of pictures. --which we did that day, a lot of them. What he said next, I am still trying to deal with. Jesus was in lightening and thunder. And he took care of me. I am not sure what to make of all of it right now. But I know God is good. And I am thankful for another day. Each day God makes His love known to us, if we would be open to receiving it. Blessings. ~ Tim
