Update on Carol, Saturday, May 3. This morning the doctor said that the diagnosis of this infection is erysipelas. He said that it is caused by a staph infection. Carols fever is up and down, and she was in a lot of pain last night. Pain is better today, and temperature is lower. The doctor ordered an ultrasound to see if any fluid could be drawn from the infection site. The antibiotics are making Carols stomach hurt, but she has medication for that as well.
