Update on Codie, as you know he has had such a difficult time with pneumonia this year. He has been on a new antibiotic almost every two to three weeks since January of this year. Also at least every other month a steroid. Since he has had such a difficult time with treatment and his veins are pretty much out of the question for long antibiotic IV treatment at any given time. We have decided to do a permanent chemo port placement. The port will be placed above the heart. So he can receive stronger antibiotics it will allow for them to draw blood easier without him being stuck repeatedly and to receive blood transfusion if needed.
