Update on Community Infrastructure Repairs & Improvements (via our Uwharrie Living newsletter) Over the past several weeks, the sealcoating of various streets has continued in between rain events and residents’ schedules. The sealcoating contractor has managed to complete work on the following streets: Whitley Mill, Coggins Mine, Spring Gap Run, Candor Oaks, Long Cove, Gladstone Springs, Tindall’s Lane, Swift Island, Yadkin Falls, Downing Point, Archer Glen, Patterson’s Bridge, and Marina Lane. Lassiter Mill, Glenbrook Springs, and Piney Grove Point will be scheduled in the coming weeks. Residents in the affected areas will be notified in advance as work progresses. The paver repair at the main entrance has been completed. Based on a review from our engineer earlier this year, it was determined that several areas in the brick pavers at the main entrance had sunk causing water issues for the subsurface. Our contractor has removed the pavers, repaired the subsurface and relayed the pavers. Members may notice the pavers are a little higher than before, but this was necessary to provide better drainage for these areas, but it also will help slow traffic down for the safety of our Security staff and grounds maintenance contractors. Additional signage has been ordered to alert drivers of the traffic bumps and it will be installed once received.
