Update on Dad and Myself!! Start with Dad.... Backup just a little, dad came home from the hospital on June 17. There was no bed in the rehab in Helena for him to go to, so we took him home hoping to find help through the Phillips Co Health Unit. They were able to help but not to the extent we needed. So after a couple of falls and such Sharon found a bed at a rehab facilicity in Harrison, AR. Which is where he still is. He is getting the help he needs and seems to be getting stronger. He is not happy about being there, but until he can take care of himself......... he has no choice. Please continue to keep he and my mom in you prayers!! Now update on me!! Talk about shock and surprise!! Saturday night June 28, 8 pm. I was standing ing the pavilion here at home and suddenly had a pain, Like a cramp on the left side of my neck and shoulder. The pain subsided for a while and came in to go to bed. I tried to lay down and had so much pain I was immedately back up. After the 3rd try at laying down, I finally drove myself to the ER here in Eureka Springs. After a CT Scan and told there were some type of mass on my stomach, I was transported by ambulance to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville. Once there another CT Scan was done and was told there was a tumor the size of a softball inside my stomach under my rib cage and I will be having surgery on Monday. I go into surgery about noon...... Once out of surgery, I am told the Softball size tumor has been removed, under it was another tumor, my Spleen, 25% of my stomach and part of my intestines where attached to my stomach. A couple of days post surgery, I develop an infection in the incision. I had a wound vac put in to help the healing of the incision area and came on from the hospital yesterday. I was in from June 29th - July 8th. Home Health Care will be here this morning for the first evaluation. I do have another surgery or 2 in my future once I am healed. The Tumors are called GIST (Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumors) Prognosis is good and I will be starting Chemo after I am healed better from the surgerys. Thank you for the out pouring of love, prayers and healing light and just keep it coming... I need it...
