Update on Dad-first of all, I want to clarify as Ive had many inquiries...my dad was walking when he was hit by a car. A pedestrian; not driving. He has graduated to a downgraded wing of ICU this afternoon. Hes getting breathing treatments periodically to help strengthen his lungs. Hes completely off sedation and is awake. They have to keep him restrained b/c he continues to try to pull out feeding tube and cath. He is in a lot of pain; yet is a adamant that if we just untie him, and help him up, he is fine and wants to go home. Hes is frustrated with us for not assisting him in his escape attempts. Today he told Emily and I, this is very childish to do to your father while pointing his finger at us. While some of the things he says are comical, its also very hard for us as we know he genuinely fears hospitals and just wants to go home! Tomorrow he should have a swallow test to see about removing his feeding tube. He is having extreme difficulty staying relaxed and sleeping for any substantial amount of time. One day at a time....please pray for him to remain calm, peaceful, and for sleep so he can recover with minimal pain. Thank you!
