Update on Elmo.......What started out as the worst day of my life might turn out to be the best. We got up this morning and Elmo had swollen considerably during the night. Especially in his legs. He was in so much pain that we had to carry him back to the vet where I felt sure we were going to lose him. There was no doubt in my mind. The vet looked closer at him and while he has considerable edema it is NOT from bone cancer. Thats not to say there isnt cancer somewhere else in his body but this cancer on his leg bone was the vets biggest concern. He (the Vet) says there is a very real chance all of this can be coming from a tick bite and he is going to treat him with antibiotics to see if that will reduce the swelling. Right now he is resting comfortably and the vet says if this was the problem (tick bite) we should see a marked improvement by Friday. He is not out of the woods by any means yet but he is back home with us which is more than I would have ever expected. Prayers do work. While my prayers were not so much that he be healed but rather that Gods will be done. I know for a fact he heard me (and yall) Thank you so very much for those prayers and concerns.
