Update on Floyd Garner - Just left the Emory Clinic and all docs are on the same page and we have a plan of action we were hoping for - Floyd will have a partial nephrectomy because the tumor is located at the top of the kidney. This will be a harder surgery since they have to cut the kidney tissue and the blood flow will be shut off during surgery and since Floyd only has one kidney, he has no back up. Theyre going to plan to get him in surgery in the next couple of weeks (should know tomorrow on a definitive date). Doc says recovery after surgery will be 4-6 weeks with no chemo/radiation or targeted therapies. Hell go back to the 6 month check up post op. Well have to postpone our 20th anniversary trip to Hawaii but thats OK - this couldve been a lot worse and were so grateful for all your prayers, calls, words of encouragement and support. Floyd has a great team of docs and were very confident in their care and expertise. God sent us some great doctors. Please keep praying that surgery goes well and Floyd recovers quickly.
