Update on Gramps... *He is currently hospitalized at MCV in Richmond, Va. for infection and running high fevers from emergency surgery that he had last week due to cysts that caused pain and infection... *We found out two weeks ago that Gramps is offically on the national donor lists .. dont know how we feel about this as .. in order to be on the list you have to be at a certain level and that pretty much means his MELD SCORE (LIVER SCORE) is high! :( But we are still positive that this is a good thing! *We also may have a qualified person to donate.. we will keep you updated! BAD NEWS... *We were informed last week that MCV will no longer be doing Living Liver Transplants anymore .... :( *Needless to say Gramps & Pam were very distraught .. but as all things you have to move on and keep on going .. NOTHING KNOCKS US DOWN... *So with NO DELAY we contacted UVA ... we have talked with one of the nicest and most organized people there AMY ... who has already gotten our records transferred and all of our testing will still be okd at UVA that we did at MCV so we do not have to redo any testing which is a + !!!!!!!!!!!!!! *The surgeon Dr. Masula there is very excited to meet us and they want to get us in this week ... so if we can get Gramps well and feeling better so he can be discharged from MCV we can surely get this NEW CHAPTER towards the end of this LONG awaited story started. CURRENTLY... *Yesterday gramps had a PICC LINE inserted for any future IV fluids, antibotics and so they will not have to prick him 1,000 times anymore he is black and blue!! *Today we were told that Gramps will be discharged tommorrow!!!! *Hopefully this means that we can get to UVA SOON!! WHAT WE NEED.... *Please keep us all in your prayers for a easy transition and prayers for some better news in the future!! Thanks for all your support up until now! GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!
