Update on Heike Henderson. Its been a good few weeks since Heike came out of the Hospice and we have experienced several minor ailments and tech probs with her syringe driver delivering her pain relief. All pretty much fixed now and we have had a prolonged period of what can be best described as settled. Heike no longer speaks except the odd word but her face tells me how she feels and she beams when she is happy or sees a friendly face or hears a friendly voice on the phone. Daily routine is early meds at 0930, carers at 1000, District nurse at 1100, lunch followed by carers at 1500, evening meal at 1730 and final carers at 2000hrs. On average 2130hrs is bed time where she insists on sleeping holding hands. Much of the day she sleeps but the short periods that she is lucid she is very settled and smiles, as happy as she can be, well, in god I trust she is. I constantly tell her of your well wishes and the other day when Susan, Jack, Doug, Sylvia and Sue visited made her very happy. I told her of best wishes from Steve and Anna Follows and her face visibly lit up. Thank you all for your kind words and support but especially for the support from my sisters everyone a star!
