Update on Jake Wilson- Tommorow will be his 4 week accident - TopicsExpress

Update on Jake Wilson- Tommorow will be his 4 week accident anniversary(10/17/14). It is amazing how much hes been through in 1 month. I am so proud of how hard he is working on his recovery. Yesterday, we met with Dr. Myong. She was very impressed about his progress, range of motion, pain management(he hasnt taken any pain meds since 10/26), and attitude. He is healing ahead of schedule!! He was thrilled to get his stitches out. She is allowing him to start putting 30lbs of weight on his leg with the brace locked at 0 motion this week. Next week, hell progress to 60lbs, and the following week 90lbs. Which means, hell be full weight bearing at 7-8 weeks post surgery. She is still having him stay in the wheelchair for safety in high traffic areas(school, games, shopping, etc.), but doesnt have to have it elevated. She is also allowing him to work on full range motion. By 12/3, his next appointment with her, she wants him to be at full range(for him 140°). At yesterdays appointment, he was supposed to be at 90°. She said he was at about 100-110°. Today, he was able to get 120° with his PT Damon. He is doing so well and I am so thankful to see positive changes for him. He owes much of his progress to Ms. G. She has been a true blessing to Jake and us. We will never be able to repay her kindness and dedication to his rehabilitation. We as a family have been so touched by the love and support of our beautiful community, family, friends and his teachers. Thank you so much for all the prayers and positive vibes. He still has a long road of recovery, but he is well on his way.
