Update on Jons mom, Kathy, or Mama T as so many of you have lovingly called her. As many of you know Mom has been battling an unknown illness since the end of October. Thank you for your prayers and patience while we chose to keep this private until we had a diagnosis and knew what she was facing. Over the last few days, her symptoms increased and we ended up back in the ER on Sunday. After a follow-up MRI we were finally given a diagnosis. It is with heavy heart that we share this news with you. Mom has an inoperable malignant brain tumor called glioblastoma. Because this is a very aggressive, fast-growing tumor as well as the location of it in her brain her remaining time here on earth will be short and she will soon be reunited with Jon and Scott. We take comfort in knowing what a special and amazing reunion that will be. Our immediate prayer request is for the steroids to do their job in the next 24 hours to temporarily shrink the tumors so she will be alert enough for us to say our final goodbyes. Please pray for strength for our family as this is more than we know how to bear. Pray for Mama Ts Comfort and a pain-free journey home as well as wisdom for the doctors to keep her comfortable. We ask that you respect the family wishes as we spend this valuable time with her in asking for limited phone calls and visits to allow her a peaceful journey.
