Update on Justin- All I can say is he is AMAZING and the therapists at Kessler are AMAZING!! Yesterday I went to his therapy session with him. He walked with the help of the two aides for a long time. The two girls told him he had to put his arms on their shoulders and he followed their commands. I said to him, I know you like that- two beautiful girls surrounding you and he SMILED!!!!! He got a little tired so they let him sit for a few minutes and then asked him if he wanted to try walking again and he said yes. So they got him back up and he walked again, following their commands to move the right foot, move the left foot. He also rode the bike for 10 minutes!!! All the time his legs did all the pedaling!!! The therapists said they were impressed! They asked him his full name and he told them. They asked him his brothers and sisters names and he told them. He knew his birthday. They asked him who I was and he said Evelyn. I was beyond thrilled by what I saw! They put some fruit in front of him ( a banana, apple, lemon and orange). She asked him to give her the banana and he did, she then proceeded to ask him to give her each piece of fruit and each time he did it correctly. She asked him how many pieces of fruit there was and he put up 4 fingers and also spoke 4!!! Then he got bored so she said to him if you dont want to do this anymore then put the fruit back in the basket and he did!! They tried to get him to sit upright by himself. He tried really hard and was able to do so for a few seconds but then started to tilt over. At one point they asked him if he had any pain. He nodded yes so they asked him where, your stomach, legs, arms- each time he shook his head no. So they said where? He said very clearly, my balls!!!! He doesnt like the catherer!!! I told him soon itll be taken out. They also told me within the next few days they will remove the feeding tube and start feeding him. He was able to eat peaches and ice cream the other day. Obviously hes not going to be eating cheese steaks or pizza any time soon but baby steps!!! God is listening and Justins determination is there! Hes coming backkkkkkkkkk! YAYYYYY!! Keep those prayers coming- obviously theyre working!!!! Thank you!!!!
