Update on Kevin Rock: I spoke with Kevin briefly this morning. I think hes doing pretty well, all things considered. What happened: He was trimming tree branches on a ladder above his roof and slipped from the ladder, bounced off of the roof and then onto the ground. He fell about 18 feet, breaking his neck. Fortunately his daughter was home at the time and heard the big crash on the roof and ran outside and then called 911. The surgery went well and the good news is that hes going to be in a neck brace instead of a halo. There is a long, slow recovery ahead, many months. He did assure me that he be would on the phone booking artists and tours very soon from home. Most of all, he wanted everyone to know how grateful he is for the support, the concern, the love and the prayers. He wants to thank those KMP artists and their managers for working to put on a benefit concert soon in Nashville to raise funds for his staggering medical and health and living costs. He also wanted Cathy Nakos to know that words cannot describe how he feels for her stepping up to the plate immediately after the accident to rally everyone for the benefit. Kevin has put together many benefits and fundraisers over the years for others in need, never thinking he would one day need help himself. Kevin wrote this message by text this morning and asked me to post it for him: This perhaps isnt exactly the expected response to my little tumble, but I am truly feeling so blessed, and yes, as Ken said, overwhelmed by the outpouring of prayers and and positive thoughts for my recovery. First of all, those prayers are working. Surgery was successful and the doctor expects me to fully recover- as long as I behave the next few months. A serious challenge, but considering the alternative, its one Im willing to undertake. Secondly, as you see, Ken is so much more than my biz partner- our friendship counts for much more and I treasure what we have everyday. And thirdly, I think its abundantly clear that the artists and their teams that we work with really are KMP family. Ken & I love all of you and I cant wait to see all of you soon. God Bless you all, KJR
