Update on Kurt: August 7--This morning when I got to Kurts room around 6, he was looking chipper and said he felt much better than he had the previous morning. He definitely looked better. Roses in his cheeks, eyes were sparkling...a moms dream come true. He walked around theblock with the PT and she told me she followed him--no help needed. Tomorrows plan is that he goes to the gym on the 4th floor and will do a little workout. He got to order solid food today for lunch--those who know him well wont be surprised that the first item was mashed potatoes. His vitals are doing well; so far so good on the immunosuppressents. He had quite a bit of company today--Christian & Sarah, Aunt Mary, and Lolly all stopped by. And Ann, of course--our vigilant interpreter of all things medical. Things stay busy now, almost non-stop with all the information were learning concerning life with a shiny new liver. His head has to be full to the brim; I know ours are and were not the one recovering from surgeries on top of everything else. The staff, thankfully, is terrific and has walked us patiently through every step. God bless them all for the tireless work they do. Tonight he could use some special prayers for that post-surgery ick that weve all been through when the pain meds tend to clog the system. He currently doesnt own a core muscle thats not been cut, stretched, stitched, or stapled. When I left him and Tom tonight he was feeling pretty miserable. Hell get past it--its just pretty rough going for the present. Your cards and prayers continue to be most appreciated. God bless you all and goodnight ♡.
