Update on Laura Vanek-Schoolcraft - The roller coaster continues, and as the Lord showed me, there would be scary moments and weeee moments. We have had both the last couple of days. We are still in need of the miracle, so please keep praying. Some scary highlights: Urinary Tract Infection. Temperature that took about 12 hours to reduce and required both a cooling pad connected to a machine, and ice bags. Had a spell where her heart rate went up to 160, and I woke up to 4 nurses working on her. The chest scan showed blood clots in the lungs. Couldnt use blood thinner because of the issues with the brain. Put in a special filter that will catch any more blood clots moving around. Had a couple spells with erratic heart rate that had the nurses very concerned and I was called back to the hospital from spending some time with the kids. On the weeeee side of the ride: This evening her brain pressure is down and she is hasnt been on the sedative for a while. I love this because it allows us to see signs of life. For example, tonight when I came in from out in the cold and held her arm, she moved her arm and shoulder. Later, I told her I was going to kiss her and then kissed her on her cheek and her breathing went weird for about 10 seconds. The nurse checked her eyes with a flash light, and I didnt see any reaction, but when she was done the left eye was still partially open, and I saw her blink it about 10-15 times. It was not enough to close the eye, but still a blink. Weeee. We have still not seen any cognitive function, and heart and bloodflow issues are serious concerns. Please keep those prayers going. We want that miracle.
