Update on Leigh Ann: I will never be able to thank all of you who have been fervently praying for Leigh Ann. Looking back over the past 2 weeks it is clear God was strengthening us and sustaining us when there was no other place to find strength. Your prayers have been such an encouragement to our family!! Leigh Ann has had a good day overall. She has been breathing with nasal oxygen since 8:30 this morning. They are monitoring her closely to see if they will need to put her back on the bi-pap machine tonight. She is having enough little challenges that they are keeping her in ICU tonight and tomorrow (maybe longer). There is a great deal of confusion. This is usual for ICU patients but Leigh Anns seems to be beyond the norm. Of course they are looking at her mix of meds and other sources for this. It does appear we have moved beyond critical to stable. One thing the doctors are making sure I understand is that she was very sick and will take some time to feel normal again. But the great news is that she will get there. My overwhelming feeling tonight is gratitude. Here are a few things for which I am grateful: 1. Gods healing power and His personal intervention in our lives 2. Friends and family who have sacrificially given to help us walk through this challenge. Lee Huey, Carla Davis, and Brittany Duncan, I cant thank you enough for time sitting with Leigh Ann so I could rest and go again the next day or night. 3. The prayers of hundreds of friends around the world. Seriously, I have been overwhelmed. Leigh Ann will love reading all of your comments. I cant wait to show her. 4. An understanding and gracious church family who has given us time and space over these days. And who have been tireless in their intercessory prayers. FBC Conyers, you are awesome! 5. A great team of doctors and nurses who have been the tools God has used in helping Leigh Ann and in supporting me personally. Yes, Leigh Ann is still a pretty sick lady, but the clouds are starting to part. Please continue to pray for her healing as she continues to work through some residual effects of the infection she suffered. God is answering. He is healing. And I am grateful!!
