Update on Mathuin! He is doing SO WELL! Hes down to 10mg of prednisone every day, and almost all symptoms are GONE! Hes peeing and pooing normally, his back end seems to be much stronger, no pain, and hes a normal puppy now - getting into everything, including countertops, kitchen table, and trash! The next step is 10mg every other day, and then off completely. At some point during the step-down, his symptoms may return and then we know he may have to be at that level of prednisone for life. But there is the chance, also, that the meningitis will only have to be treated a couple times a year - whenever he has a flare-up. So, all in all, GREAT progress!
