Update on Max. X-rays were unremarkable, with nothing to indicate Max ate something he shouldnt have eaten. Theyll be read by Board Certified Radiologists, but the EC Vet said shed be really surprised if surgery was warranted. So Max stayed at the emergency clinic (a 24 hour facility), on IVs. Hell be getting antibiotics, and something to control the vomiting and diarrhea. Blood work was done, some kind of test for pancreatitis, and Im too tired to remember what else. She said possibly infection, ingestion of something toxic, sometimes you never know. You treat the symptoms and provide supportive care. I can go back to visit him this afternoon. Vet said to bring a book or something to occupy the time, and I am welcome to sit with Max in one of the exam rooms. I thought that was pretty neat - Ill feel better if I can visit him. Say a prayer for my special boy please.
