Update on Noah, day 316 ~ Noah and I agreed on an analogy for our life right now, while playing cards tonight. This whole healing process is kind of like the weather in Missouri...a rollercoaster. He told me he knows he is making progress, he can see it and feel it, as can I. There are good days and bad days, and for the most part, thankfully, more good than bad. He says he can tell that, overall, he has a better grasp on things and I agree. This is a slow process, sometimes painfully so, but as long as hes moving forward, things are good. He tells me his eyesight is improving as well. :-) He will continue to work on his OT through the summer months, as well as working on his math skills. Noah and I had a conversation earlier this week, talking about how he still feels socially awkward, not knowing how to respond when people say Hi to him, or what to say in a conversation. To most, this might seem silly, because those things come naturally to them, but your brain controls everything, even simple social interaction. I told him that because he is aware of it, he is able to work on it. And I think he has been, because he had two very good interactions with people today at the store. :-) We had a very scary experience this afternoon. As we were driving down Walnut (the main drag in town), two large size pickup trucks came flying up behind us, then split apart, one on each side of us ~ they were racing! Both of them came within 2 feet of our car, and needless to say, it scared us half to death. It just so happened, that they pulled into the same parking lot to which we were headed. One of them kept going and left, the other parked. I got out of my car, shaking from head to toe, more from anger than anything, and proceeded to give the teenage boy whod been driving a piece of my mind. No, I didnt swear at him, nor did I yank him out of the truck like I really wanted to, but I gave him a chewing out he wont soon forget. He apologized meekly before I walked away. I am thankful to God that nothing worse had happened (and for my self control). Tomorrow officially begins lawn mowing season for us; I had mentioned doing it earlier this week, and Noah quickly jumped in and said he would take care of it. :-) Thats my dude. I hope everyone enjoys this lovely weather. I am thankful for it and for all of you. God bless you.
