Update on Ottuma, Iowa puppy Cody, shot and wounded by an officer responding to a domestic call. Cody -a 45-pound, 9-month old pit bull - was shot by a local cop on Aug. 28 during a domestic disturbance call. The city has BSL Breed Specific Legislation and Codys family had previously been ordered to remove him from the city limits. Allegedly, they gave the city officials false information on his whereabouts. Cody was impounded after the shooting and his future was uncertain. The good news is that the police transferred Cody to Hope Animal Rescue in Grimes, IA and he is now out of police custody and legal trouble. Cody is free and will be placed for adoption in a different city after he recovers. The bad news is that his leg is badly injured by the gunshot and he remains in intensive care. The medical bills are estimated to be $2,500. If you would like to contribute there is a link at the end of the news article. ottumwaeveningpost/9470/88050/a/wounded-pit-bull-to-be-adopted-out
