Update on Sally - she did very well yesterday, well enough that it was very difficult to get a non-blurry photo of her as she didnt want to stand still! Sally is bandaged up in pink to reflect the sweet little girl that she is. She is on antibiotics and receiving supportive care for her wounds. She will receive a bandage change today; the vet is looking any necrotic (dead) tissue that will need to be removed and will handle that accordingly. Sally is very stable and on the road to recovery. Many questions have been asked about Sally so here is a recap - 1. Sally came into a south Alabama shelter with significant injuries. She was brought to our attention and we immediately got her to a vet clinic where she began receiving care. 2. We do not know exactly how she was injured, but our vet believes that Sally became deeply entangled in some sort of cable or chain that got embedded into her skin. 3. Her wounds were not new; they were at least 5-10 days old, based upon our vets examination. 4. Sallys wounds may require surgery to help them close, but that has not been determined at this point. 5. Sally is currently located at a vet clinic in south Alabama. 6. Sally is a young female, about a year old, and weighs 60lbs, although she is underweight. 7. Sally will be available for adoption once she has healed from her wounds and been fully vetted. 8. Anyone interested in Sally can submit an application at weimrescue. 9. Thank you to all those who have donated to Sallys medical fund youcaring/pet-expenses/emergency-fundraiser-for-sally/262601
