Update on Scotts visit to Vanderbilt today...first of all, thank all of you for the facebook messages, pms, texts, and calls. It really means a lot to us. We did not learn a whole lot today. I will say that it is obvious that these people know their stuff. He had two different doctors who spent 6 hours with him today, one an MD / Associate Professor at Vanderbilt and one a MD / PhD . They did all kinds of exams and tests. They ordered lab work with 5 pages to do profiles on. His primary doctor at Vanderbilt, who is one of the top in her field, is not sure that the original diagnosis is correct. She is leaning more toward another condition. She mentioned several things that this could be, and none of them were good. The visual tests showed that the optic nerve in the right eye is paling also. This was new news for us. She is concerned that the same illness is working on that side like it has in the left eye. He has lost a very large percentage of vision in the left eye. The plan is to wait for a call from Dr. Mawn that she has the lab work back and that a new MRI is scheduled. He will then have a new appointment scheduled with her and we will head back to Vanderbilt for all of that. Dr. Mawn said that she would like for all this to happen within the next couple of weeks. She made it clear that this is a top priority for her and that she wants all testing done at Vanderbilt so she can manage how it is completed. So, we wait some more and we pray for Gods continued guidance and grace. Thanks again to all of you!
