Update on Suzie: Tuesday (day after Surgery) - DAY FROM HELL!!!! Pain, irritable, and understandable!!! We did make some progress with walking (20 ft), knee/leg extention/contraction - 0-60 degrees), pain management, rest and eating normal. Its amazing that saying what a difference a day makes.... Im kinda caught up in some of my rest and caught a 2 hour nap in hospital room recliner while Suzie napped too during her 2 hour knee flexing therapy.... She are well for breakfast, dinner and supper and hospital meals were at least edible but VERY bland. She cant wait to get home for some southern cooking with flavor! Schedule is to continue program and progress and get discharged Friday morning. We will continue rehab and physical therapy at home rather than checking into a rehab facility (nursing home with physical therapist on staff). She is approved 21 days rehab at a rehab facility but want to be home with her puppy dog, flowers, birds and DirectTV HDTV.... Ha Ha Told her Ill be a Marine Drill Sargent along with her cousin Susan McLaughlin who we share the house with) to make sure she reaches targets and goal of rehab. She will also have home visits (up to 21 visits) of physical therapist every other day. I think well do just fine with our plans to rehab at home.... Suzies classmate from High School James Donovan Gautier (Jimmy ), stopped by for a short visit Tuesday (much appreciated Jimmy) and flowers were delivered from Wendy Melton (Mobile Infirmary mgmt lady who was instrumental in solving problems getting to see Suzie in Post Op after surgery on Monday. Its was a very nice gesture on her part representing MI mgmt and following up. All told, its been an adventure and something to remember in 7 months when we replace Suzies right knee. We arent totally out of the tunnel but we do see a light -- and havent heard a train whistle. Continue to keep Suzie in your prayers (me and Susan too)! Ill send out another update as things progress - maybe Friday after hospital discharge.... Blessings EVERYONE!!!!!
