Update on TK surgery - one week post op... Spent just one night in the hospital, was up walking the corridors the same day as the procedure, lapping the 80 year olds like they were 90.... Doing well with PT, handling it without the pain meds other than tylenol. Walking with just a cane for balance, it will take months for my body to totally unlearn the limp and retrain unused, atrophied and misused muscles but it will happen. The main deal - the grinding constant pain of bone spurs on bone spurs in the hip joint - is gone! Pretty amazing. I must say the the anterior approach, from the front, is the bomb, and Dr. Zehr & his staff of Zehr Orthopeadics in Naples - and the folks at Physicians Regional Hospital - are nothing short of wonderful. They say Im a month away from scissor kicks, jump splits and leaps from speaker towers, but Im patient... So, I am doing just fine, and please keep my baby Karen Quint Kalvin in your prayers.
