Update on Vicki Borman: All tests came back with no signs of blood clots. This is good news but also doesnt explain why her heart randomly stopped beating yesterday . She is getting an ICD (implantable cardiac defibrillator) tomorrow at 12:30. I am grateful for this. I feel like its a bit of an insurance policy if this were to happen again. She does have 5 broken ribs (3 on the right and 2 on the left). Anyone that has actually done CPR before knows that if u dont feel the ribs breaking under your hands then you arent doing it good enough. Unfortunately, its one of the side effects of quality CPR. Understandably, she is very sore and slow. Pain was finally able to get under control today. She was able to take a nap this afternoon and hopefully has a good night tonight. We will be back at the hospital at 9am tomorrow morning and I will keep everyone posted. What I have learned is that sudden cardiac arrest is almost always fatal....we are SO lucky to be on the other end of this!
