Update on me: The good news is that Im getting my PICC line out today or tomorrow! (probably tomorrow, but a girl can hope :) ). My labs have improved enough from Monday to this morning that the decision was made to put me on oral Amoxicillin. This means I can now shower without saran wrap or a big arm-length plastic glove on my arm, and I can pick up my toddler, and I can get them in and out of the car - the possibilities are endless! Another bit of good news is that I have been nursing Jake for the past 3 days, and only supplemented with 1 oz on the first day. It will be trial and error to figure out if he needs more supplementation, but it definitely wont be long before well be 100% if were not already. And now for the not as good news: the fevers continue and have not improved. I still dont have a good explanation for this, as all the case studies Ive read (and Ive read a TON!) indicate that fevers usually resolve in 7-10 days, and Ive had fevers for 5 weeks. I plan to ask about this, but my doctor is out of town until my appointment on 1/22, which is kind of frustrating. Hoping maybe my body will respond better to the Amoxicillin. In the meantime, when I take ibuprofen at night for the fever, I sweat profusely all night long (I sleep on a beach towel), so I am not taking over newborn night duty until that goes away. This is kind of a minor thing, but I developed a muscle spasm in my intercostal muscles that makes it painful to breathe while lying down, so if you wouldnt mind adding that to your prayer list, I would appreciate it. I thought it would be brief, but its been going on for 2 weeks and makes it a bit hard to sleep. So thats the situation! Some pretty great news, but still need prayers for the fevers, and maybe for the muscle spasm if you have any prayers left over :)
