Update on my Dad from my Mom. Ken is still in the hospital and will probable be there for at least 2 more days. They just started him on Coumadin this evening along with the heparin. Tomorrow they will check his clotting level again and adjust the heparin down and the coumadin up and tomorrow evening they will check his levels again and make ajustments until his levels are where they want them to be. Then he can come home on coumadin and go to get blood level checks daily until they are certain the levels are stable and then they will ruduce the frequency of the blood level checks less often until they decide he is able to come off of the coumadin. somewhere in the process they will probably do another vein scan to see if the clot has dissolved. Will keep you posted.
