Update on my Multiple Myeloma (a cancer of the plasma cells, a type of white blood cells present in your bone marrow. Plasma cells normally make proteins called antibodies to help you fight infections). I went to the Jackson VA Medical Center in October and they said that my lab results and my response to the treatments were doing very well and it was decided to stop my Chemo injection. As maintenance, I still take a chemo pill, (Revlimid) everyday for 21 days and then take a 7 day break for my blood cell to increase. They did increase my pill from 10mg to 15mg. They know the chemo injection do work and we can fall back on the injections if necessary. Today, after two months without a Chemo injection, I had another follow up (eyeball to eyeball) appointment and consultation with my doctor, as required before the monthly chemo pill can be ordered. All of my today lab results still looks very good. We had been considering a bone marrow transplant, but at this time, after talking with my doctor, we decided not to do the transplant at this time. Vicki and I thank each of you for your concern and prayers! P.S. I was told that I am in remission. To GOD be the glory!
