Update on my back: It has been 5 weeks since my fall and I am honestly very discouraged. Essentially, Im a mess. :( I saw my primary care physician 2 weeks ago and we decided to increase my pain medicine -- a VERY hard decision as I have worked very hard to minimize it over the past several years. I will be getting an X-ray within the next few days and will be seeing my neurosurgeon again on Friday. I am scared I may have to face a risky surgery after all. :( I am having serious issues with the Jewett brace because of previous injuries. I had a sternal fracture (breast bone) several years ago, and despite the padding intended to help avoid this, the sternal plate of the brace also puts pressure over both of my subclavicular implants (pacer and central line). To make matters worse, I also have chronic pain from a low back injury -- yep, right where the braces back pad goes. >.< Ive been pretty miserable this week, hence my not being online much at all for the past few days. It is a VERY bad day if I miss the Livestream from Taiji! :( In summary, I am SO sick and tired of being sick and tired! >:( Okay, done whining! GRATITUDE: I am Alive. I have a true and wonderful love! I am not paralyzed. I have better pain meds. I have a roof over my head; I am safe; I have heat and clothing; comfy blankets; safe, clean water; my favorite hot teas; ample yummy vegan food; a good laptop and access to the Internet. Focusing on these things and never taking them for granted is often the only thing that keeps me from going insane and always keeps me cognizant of the fact that MILLIONS of people on this planet are much worse off than I! Anytime you are in a bad place, precious ones, please do take a moment to reflect and remember -- as cliche as it is, its very true! -- it could be MUCH worse, and there are always others suffering more. Last but not least, I LOVE YOU GUYS so much, thank you as always for keeping me in your thoughts and prayers.
