Update on my parents, Harry and Beverly Head: Dad is up and walking today. The doctors at the VA Hospital say it looks like the bowel obstruction may be resolving itself quickly on its own. They may even be able to have him eat a little food and see how he does tomorrow, which is great news!!!. That means he may be released in 3-4 days. Dad has a hard time hearing the phone ring in the room so if you call, he may not hear it ring. He is in the Salt Lake VA Hospital, on 3rd West, room 3A. My mom, at the UOU hospital, is doing well also. Last night she was joking with the nurses and all those coming in to care for her and even sang a song to a couple of them. That is mom, right! The pain meds did not let her sleep well, but she is up this morning doing great. She is able to eat and they may try and get her up today. The doctors are feeling very positive about her recovery possibilities. She is in the University of Utah hospital in room 6309. Her number is 801-585-8609. She will be there at least a week then to rehab. I am going up to visit with dad today and then spend the night with mom (dad does not want her to be alone).
