Update on my son Jalen Shaffer Earlier this morning, Jalen was doing some speed and agility training with some tires in our back yard. After a little while, he tripped over the last tire and flew 10-12 feet into some jagged rocks near our house. The rocks cut his hand right below the thumb and a little bit into area between his thumb and index finger. It was quite a deep cut so we took him into the emergency room. Fortunately it was a circular cut rather than a jagged cut, which will allow the hand to heal normally. No permanent damage. Although he now has 8 stitches in his hand and a splint on this thumb. And they said that the tendons were fine. He will have the stitches and splint on for the next 10 days. Unfortunately it is basketball season so he will miss his first 2-3 games this week and next. We had some funny moments with him as they gave Jalen laughing gas :) And he cut up his thigh as well from the rocks but he didnt need stitches for his thigh. Thanks for praying, everyone. Since Jalen is a quarterback we were a little bit concerned about the damage, since it is his throwing hand. But it should heal nicely. Hopefully, he will be able to start throwing again in 4 weeks.
