Update on our 16-year old son, Danny DeLapp 12.25.2014, 9 - TopicsExpress

Update on our 16-year old son, Danny DeLapp 12.25.2014, 9 a.m. We just met with a remarkably skilled, kind kidney doctor. He went to great lengths to gather all details of Dannys situation, as well as to explain things to us. First of all, in cases of hemolytic uremic syndrome (HUS) it is very unusual to give platelet infusions so early in the patients care. But Danny is already receiving the first of what may be many platelet infusions. With a normal platelet count being at least 200,000, Danny started out with a count of 7,000 in Siloam Springs yesterday. Upon arrival at Arkansas Childrens Hospital last night, the count had dropped to 6,000. This morning the count had diminished to 4,000. Quick action was required and taken. Although dialysis is not currently planned, the doctor reported that it would most likely be needed. Finally, the doctor informed us that Dannys care at ACH may well require weeks rather than days. We continue to look to the Lord in faith for Dannys recovery and healing. Your support and encouragement are greatly appreciated. Please pray with us for Danny (and for us). Thank you!
