***Update on the Upcoming Weekend*** After speaking with law enforcement this week, this is the best explanation I have as to whats going on: This upcoming weekend, the weekend of Deltopia, Isla Vista Foot Patrol will be enforcing the Countys Festival Ordinance - shutting down any public parties or parties whose music is so loud as to attract people from the street. Private events among friends should be safe from the ordinance as long as they are held in the backyard or inside the home. However if you receive a warning from a law enforcement officer that warning should be heeded regardless of your party size. In addition please remember that no matter what happens if you are cited for an infraction during Deltopia Associated Students - UCSB has your back! You can visit UCSB Associated Students Legal Resource Center on Pardall and receive advice from a lawyer. You can also visit the Associated Students Office of the Student Advocate at UCSB if the campus attempts to take any disciplinary action against you because of a Deltopia event. Remember to be safe folks, exercise your rights, and have fun!
