Update on the potentially major storm system for Thanksgiving: For trend purposes, Im posting the latest GFS images for the storm system Ive been talking about for many days now which continues to look quite impressive. The first image shows this systems first developing stage on Monday Nov. 24, with the rest of the images in 12-hour increments. You can see this thing rapidly strengthening as indicated by the tightly packed isobars by frame 3-4, taking an ominous track. This current track would favor a swath of heavy snow and powerful winds here, but as always, the track will flip-flop over the next week or so, thus, nothing is carved in stone and wont be for some time. But being this has not left any models over the last 5-days, it is definitely a credible storm and one to watch closely. I will periodically have updates in this as it approaches and hone in on the specifics when necessary... A couple days before this affects the region. Those with holiday travel plans should not alter any plans yet, but do monitor later forecasts as this would certainly have potential to severely hamper travel conditions.
