Update on the winter storm: Do to this winter storm I wont be doing my 7 day system outlook today. This winter storm shoyld start effecting the state by by the afternoon areas. Especially towards mid afternoon. This system looks to come to an end by late afternoon wednesday. This will start from the north and spread southward. The precip will start as rain for everyone. But, will change to snow as time goes by. The change over will spread from northwest to southeast. The rain and snow line by midnigt looks to be setting up along I-80. Then to I-72 by 4am. Then to I-70 by 7 or 8am. Then to I-64 by mid to late morning. Then to route 13 by early afternoon. The snow could be heavy at times north of I-70. But, especially north of I-72. The heaviest snows looks to fall from about 1am to 6am north. 5am to 11am central and east. Mainly north of I-70. But, especially north of I-72. Winds: Winds will be on the gusty side with winds of around 25mph. Gusts up to 30-40mph. These einds looks to be in this range by mid evening in the north before spreading south as the night goes on and looks to dimminish by late wednesday night. Rainfall amounts: .50 to 1.00 south of route 136. North if route 136 could see .25-.50 inch. Snowfall amounts: Areas north of Robinson to Mozier line and south of a Marshall to Springfield to Jacksonville line and west of a Jacksonville to Rockford line could see 1-3 inches. Areas north of east of this area and south of a Danville to Madison City (just north of Springfield) and east of a Madison City to Highland Park line could see 3-6 inches. Areas north and east of this area could see 6-8 inches. Some areas could see higher amounts than this. Dont be suprise if u hear a clap of thunder with the most intense bands of snow. Best area to see thunder snow will be noryh of I-72, south of route 17 and east of I-57. Stay tuned for the very latest on this wimter storm system.
