Update on visas.... I just spoke to the Fedex - theyve put out a route search for the package. I also just spoke with the consulate (after ordering the route search) who now says they put it in the box last night. So this is the second day in a row that theyve told us last night. Lets hope this time they told the truth... Im worrying and being anxious, but Im also sinning by doing so. I know the Lord is testing our trust in his sovereignty and his timing and Ive pretty much failed these two days allowing my nerves to run amuck. Sunday, my pastor spoke on enduring the race while looking to the joy set before us. My prayer is that we focus our eyes on Jesus and not our visas. Ive been upset, because its not just visas in that package, but all our passports, birth certificates, marriage licenses, translations... This makes all the what-ifs that much scarier. My analytical mind has gone down every possible outcome and its required response and has calculated the great expense for each option. Though, thinking like this can be beneficial, right now it is causing me to walk carnally, depending on my own understanding, rather than trusting in Christ. Im reminded this morning of Gods words to Jeremiah, I watch over my word to perform it. As we are sure of our calling and our timing, knowing our steps are ordered of the Lord, I can trust that God is unchangeable in his character and will also watch over the word (this promise) he has given us and will sovereignly perform it according to his plan which will bring him glory. I think Ive not only sinned in my focus and the doubt which has attacked my mind, but also in vanity. Ive exalted my planning and my plan (my timing, fedex, tracking numbers...) trusting in my strength. Yet it is in my weakness, His strength is made perfect. Ive sinned in my thinking, not submitting to the instructions of Paul to the Philippians. We are to think on things that are true (Gods word), honorable (Gods character), just (Gods justness), pure (Gods holiness), lovely (Gods work), commendable (our service to God), excellence (our obedience to God and his word), and praiseworthy (our witness of Christs work in our lives). May my focus and my thinking rest on Christ.
