Update: thank you all for your prayers today. We felt them all day while we were in clinic! Abby did FABULOUS today! We met KJ (team KJ from Oxford,AL) and his amazing. Parents while we were waiting. They are such a sweet family! Thanks KN for getting Abby some chips, she loved them! We are continuing to pray for you and your family! We also got to see Buddy he is one of the Hand and Paw therapy dogs that visit all the sick kids to bring them big smiles. Buddy was the first pup to visit Abby while she was on the hospital when she was first diagnosed. đ For the first time ever she DIDNT cry or put up a fight while her port was accessed, she even drew her own labs and flushed the line with saline!!!! All of Abbys counts looked great except her platelets, they were a little bit low but the doc said that its the chemo causing it and everything is still going as planned. We talked to Abbys oncologist about her up coming surgery for her kidney stones (Dec 11) he has some concerns about bleeding since her platelets could be too low so we will recheck counts on Dec. 4 when we go back for chemo and her spinal tap. If her counts are good then, then we will proceed with surgery on the 11th. Abby received 2 very big doses of chemo today but took them like the champ that she is! Two more intense treatments to go!!!!! Abby is feeling great right now but as most of you know the next few days are always the hardest after chemo. She tends to spike fevers and has the potential for mouth sores:( Please continue praying for a good week! We would love for her to be feeling great on Thanksgiving!
