Update time...Claire is much happier out of the ICU. Mostly because mommy gets to play and comfort her all day long. I hate to say this, but the pictures we post can sometime be deceptive. We get pictures at her absolute best, but she still has some mountains to overcome. Her most recent echo showed that her heart function is low-normal, which is great and a huge improvement; however, her tricuspid valve is severely leaking. The repair they did during surgery did not hold up. Her tricuspid regurgitation will lead to heart failure eventually if it is not repaired. The hope is to manage it with medicines and closely monitor her and that we can prolong the need for a repair (and another surgery) with a healthy regimine of medicine. Right now, she is on too many medicines and her stomach isnt tolerating them well. She has been vomiting a lot more frequently, but the problem is that she needs the meds she is on. Hopefully, we can start to get her off of some of those. We are definitely moving in the right direction, but she still has a ways to go.
