Updated posted by Curtis Walker 3-31-2014 Its been going well here. Jordan made his decision on a wheelchair. Between insurance approval and choosing the right chair, we will be cutting it close in getting it by the time we get home. They offer a loaner chair to take home but it would be a manual chair that would not work for Jordan. He has gained so much independence driving himself with the sip and puff we are not willing to take that away by pushing him around. Our plan is to stay in Colorado until his power chair gets in. Craig will let us use one of their power chairs (in town only). Jordans best friend Austin, his mom and brother are here visiting. They have joined us for dinner in the apartment the last couple of nights. Its been great seeing him just being a 17 year old kid with his buddy. Were looking forward to more visitors later this week. The construction started at home this week. There are a lot of changes going on with the front yard as well as Jordans new bedroom/bathroom downstairs. We have such a great crew and were so exited for the plans. Tomorrow is a big day! Jordan has an appointment with the ENT Dr. They will check vocal cords for final evaluation to have the trach removed. Although he has not been on a vent for several weeks, the trach has remained in for safety precautions. The trach has really served as just an extra airway for an emergency situation (which we havent had). Hoping all goes as planned.
