Updated report on Bonners arrest POLICE Lawyer Sam Bonner who was engaged by Police Commissioner Geoffrey Vaki was detained and arrested by National Fraud Squad officers outside the National Court House this morning. Mr Bonner’s arrest according to the National Fraud Director, Mathew Damaru and his Deputy Timothy Gitua relates to his involvement in the Paraka payment where he and his firm were alleged to be a conduit for monies that were improperly gained. The Post Courier Live reported earlier that Mr Bonner was charged for perverting the course of justice was incorrect. Mr Bonner was slapped with four charges stealing, conspiracy to defraud, money laundering and resisting arrest. Mr Bonner was instrumental in ensuring the reinstatement of Mr Vaki as Assistant Police Commissioner and then the prosecution of former Police Commissioner Toami Kulunga for contempt of Court. He is also been engaged as police lawyer in the current Parakagate saga.
